Logic X

July 16, 2013

Well we are finally seeing the release of Logic version X (10). It has been almost 3  years since Logic 9 was released and I was wondering if Apple was even planning to continue with the Pro Audio consumer. My worries stem from the release of Final Cut X which confirmed Apple was getting out of the pro NLE business. Regardless, the initial reviews of Logic X sound pretty good. The overall look has changed to be in line with the new OSX style and there seems to be many new features and instruments. Since I haven’t actually used the software and probably won’t for a while (I’ll need to update my OS from 10.6.8 to 10.8.4 and that is a pain). Check out some reviews below. So far the only negative thing about the update I can find is it only allows 64 bit plugins. But 32bit is old software and ALL plugin designers should have 64bit plugin by now.

Let me know if anyone is updating soon and wants to do a review.
